Description

The history of technology: a huge subject presented in a huge museum. Since its foundation in 1906, the exhibition area of the Deutsches Museum has expanded to 55,000 square meters. This museum is unique in its concentration on the history and development of technology and natural science. Numerous objects and interactive models (eg. a planetarium and coal mine) are used to demonstrate mankind's progress over the centuries. See website for admission prices.

I LOVED IT, ALL THE ARTIFACTS AND STUFF ON DISPLAY WERE AMAZING. The items where so preserved and looked real. My favorite part was the display of the wall in berlin.

Such a fascinating place to visit! I strongly recommend this place not only for visitors but for everyone. It was amazing to see and experience the displays first hand.

the largest and oldest science museum in the world, and by the end of the day you believe it! We got there at 9:30 and stayed until 3:30 and only saw 3 of the 6 floors! plenty of things to do for my 8 and 11 year olds.

A breathe of fresh aer-otechnic!

Every once in while there are special exihibits not only in the museum but on the airport not far from the museum grounds. There is a good chance you could fly with historical machines and, if this is not the case, you can go by plane anytime of the year if you dare!

This was a really cool place to go. Kids love it too! They have a whole section with hands on things for kids to do! I highly reccomend this muesuem!

Great Place to Check Out

Very interesting, there was something there for everyone. Many things ranging from history to science to childrens activities. I would recommend it to anyone checking out the Munich area. Make sure you have a whole day to devote there though it is a huge place.

Interesting Things for All

This building was packed with interesting things to see. From a replica old German mine inside, to trains, antique cars, even a First World War submarine. There are ships, airplanes, including the ME-262 jet fighter of WWII. All in all, plan on spending a day here if you love history half as much as I do! There is also an observation deck where you can see the beautiful Isar river and the Munich skyline. I highly recommend this as a place to visit when planning a trip to Munich.

Variety

The exhibits were very imaginative and elaborate. The variety was also great. There were life-size models, real objects, reconstructions of a submarine in cutaway form, dioramas, 3-d displays of Mars, just an endless amount of fascinating items. It definitely appeals to the boy in every man and has enough to interest anyone.

Nice place!

I went to the Deutsches Museum on my first day in Germany. I was VERY jet-lagged, but still managed to enjoy this place. There was a lot of fascinating stuff to look at and keep you entertained.

I was especially impressed by the model railroad they had set up. They put on shows of the railroad a few times through the day. It's a very large model with several trains on it, some containing cameras so you can watch as it goes thru tunnels, over bridges, etc.

I recommend this place to anyone who will be in Munich!
