A focal point for intellectual life in Munich. Filled with lots of people dressed in black, the air hangs heavy with smoke and the stench of strong alcohol, but this simple and stylish bar is perfect for whiling the night away. Most of the food is international and good quality, though neither amazing nor below par, with breakfast on Sunday particularly popular. Service is good as long as it doesn't get too full, in which case staff tend to get a bit stressed.
