Museum of Zoology (Museum für Tierkunde), Dresden

Visitors to the Museum of Zoology in the Zwinger are brought face to face with the animal kingdom. Quite literally. Alongside a fascinating exhibition dealing with the habitats and lives of a host of different species (including fish, snakes and mammals), visitors are suddenly confronted by a wild cat with only a pane of glass between them. Other interesting parts of the museum include a display about preservation techniques and a section allowing visitors to look inside the animal.
