Savignyplatz
Description
Named after King Friedrich Wilhelm IV's Minister of Justice, Friedrich Karl von Savigny (1779-1861), this nostalgic, cobble-stoned square oozes old-world charm. Antique fans will enjoy rummaging through the antique shops, but the square and its adjacent streets are best known for being home to some of Berlin's most popular restaurants and cafes. Cafe Gainsborough is a great place to enjoy a late-night cocktail, while next-door Cour Caree is popular with both locals and tourists. The best restaurants, such as 12 Apostel , are situated on the western side of the square next to the railway arches.
