This is undoubtedly one of the top restaurants in town. Guests can choose à la carte or go for one of the set 5-8 course menus. The decor is traditional yet elegant, the service attentive and friendly. Prices reflect the fact that that this really is a top-end establishment. A cheaper alternative is to head to the next-door bistro, where the food is equally delicious, but the prices significantly lower. Starters cost from EUR10-29, main courses EUR25-30, set menu EUR80, glass of wine EUR3.50 and a bottle of wine costs upwards of EUR22.50.
Love the Chef/Owner and his wife. So gracious and nice. The effort is always 110%. Wine is hand selected. When chef is out of town there can be some incosistencies coming from the kitchen so be sure to check. I have had my very finest meals at this restaurant; it is comparable to a Michelin One or Two-Star. Berlin's taxi drivers may not be very familiar with this address so leave your hotel early for your reservation. We typically leave an "American" tip because we realize how hard these culinary artists work. I usually split it between our server and personally go to the kitchen to tip the cook staff. We would never consider a trip to Berlin without including Bamberger Reiter. Don't bother unless you truly appreciate exceptional, exotic fare. Our last dining experience was over $600 for the two us. I would go again in an instant.
