The Eiffel Tower

Description

Paris just wouldn't be Paris without the Eiffel Tower (Tour Eiffel). Designed by Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 World Fair, at 300 meters (984 feet) it was once the world's tallest building. Not everyone was happy when it was first built; many considered it an eyesore and wanted it pulled down, but today it is one of the world's most visited and iconic monuments. The first and second floors can be reached using the stairs, and elevators take visitors to the magnificent view at the top.

Beautiful
By ,
We walked to the Eiffel Tower twice. The first time we got there, looked at it, and realized we didn't want to wait in line, so we left. The second time, we went at night. And I don't know about the daytime views, but the night time view was beautiful. Paris really is the city of lights. I went all the way to the top, and I am so glad I did. I say, you're in Paris. See the Eiffel Tower. Go all the way to the top. You won't regret it.

You MUST go to Tour Eiffel
By ,
Don't let the naysayers prevent you from going to the Eiffel Tower. It is magnificent, especially at night. I've been to Paris seven times and I went there each time. I will be going again next month, and I will be going to the Eiffel Tower. Take either a lunch or dinner tour. The view is breathtaking! How someone could think a trip to Paris without going to the Eiffel Tower is a mystery to me. Send a post card from there to the folks back home. Be sure to go to the very top level. You will not be disappointed.

Did he say \"disappointed\" in the Eiffel Tower???
By ,
Just returned from Paris before the ruckus and strikes began. Provence was our main area to visit, but our 3 days in Paris just a block from the Eiffel Tower was an education as well as a joy to the eyes! it is a tribute to engineering and to its German designer Alexandre Gustave Bonickhausen who was born in Dijon, France! Eiffel was the name adopted by his father ( after his home town in Germany) because the French could not pronounce Bonickhausen (go figure!!!). It is a sparkling tower which should be studied both day and at night, when it's thousands of lights twinkle ever hour for a few minutes. Learn the history and you will NOT be disappointed!!!! Book ahead of time and go to the premiere etage ( first level) for lunch and you won't have to stand in the entry line to go UP to the top! And you can walk down...also a treat! Sparkle on !!!

one of the best days of my life!
It is true that, Paris just wouldn't be Paris without the Eiffel Tower. It was then the world's tallest monument. Not everyone was happy when it was first built, many considered it an eyesore and wanted it pulled down, but today it is one of the world's most visited monuments. The first and second floors can be reached using the stairs, and elevators take visitors to the magnificent view at the top. When i reached there it was 10pm and it was one of the best days of my life! You will be amazed how the carts are pulled up to the top. Stay up on the top and see all the cities around are beautiful. It is perfect place for picture taking. Paris is also known as the city of lights. I would suggest take a stroll around the parks in front of Eiffel Tower. It's a lovely spot and you can take as many pictures as you want. After hearing so much about this city and the culture and lifestyle of the French people, I take my dinner from a restaurant and came back to my hotel for sleeping with strong desire in heart to come back again here in the daylight. - Liton
