A hit with businessmen and a fashionable crowd, this kitschy, exotic restaurant isn't quite what you'd expect to find just a few minutes away from the Crillon luxury hotel and ultra chic Place de la Concorde . Climb the massive staircase to this huge restaurant's smaller dining areas, watched over by an enormous Buddha. The imaginative Japanese-Californian menu features grilled duck and other meat dishes.
Everything... You will be turned on:-)
The atmosphere and the dark cave with and excellent service. Bevare of the high prices. But it is the hole worth:-) I will always visit this restaurant every time i visit Paris. It is the best of the best!
Besides the decoration (the statue is beautiful), this is not a place to go: the service was horrible, the food presentation is bad and it's quite difficult not to find in Paris a better place to spend the money we paid for one meal, at dinner time (they even charge for collecting the clientes jackets...). I´ll never go back and strongly desavice anyone to go.
When we first got there we were put beside an area where they cleared up the food, which was not very pleasant! However the waitress moved us as soon as she found a free table in a more favourable area of the bar. Food was nice my only small complaint would be that it was a touch greasy but overall could not complain about the whole experience.
We really enjoyed the meal and would recommend it to others.
This place was absolutely awful. A few friends had recommended that we try it so we made reservations for dinner. Despite the fact that we had reservations, we had to wait over an hour to be seated. On top of that, I haven't ever even been in a club where the music was that incredibly loud. My boyfriend and I couldn't even hear each other talk. To top off the horrible experience, we got food poisoning from what I believe was probably the tuna tartar we had and spent the next couple of days in Paris sick in our hotel room. Out of all the places that I have dined in the world, this is definately one of the worst.
I went to Budha bar for dinner. The food was average. The price was not too bad. It was about 70 EUR/person for a 3 course meal with wine. Make a reservation if you are going there for dinner. The music gets louder around 11 PM. The lounge does not require a reservation but you need to get there early if you want to have a table.
Here in California we have sushi everywhere and it's excellent. To stand in a line where people won't look at you is definitely not what I find fabulous about Buddha Bar. The good is marginal (sushi is much better here), but it is a fad there. It is the place to see and be seen in Place De Madeleine. The restaurant is outrageously expensive and don't even think about going without a reservation. When you aren't dressed appropriately on a Friday night they won't even let you in. They make you stand outside with the rest of the bummy crowd. Only people that are rich and those that look good and rich get in. The music is incredible, and the service is the worst I have ever had in ANY of my traveling experience. It is a must go to see the interior design and to pick up their fabulous yet overpriced CD's.
In the past, this bar was a real institution in Saint Germain a touch of the exotic in this chic
and intellectual district. The tropical islands have receded with the arrival of a less sophisticated clientele. The decor has ...
