Viaduc Cafe (Le), Paris

I went to the Cafe Viaduc in July '08 and was impressed not only by the hearty, very fairly priced food, but also by the service - we actually left a 25% tip. I took my mum (who was over from South Africa) there and she reckoned it was the best food that we'd had in Paris during our short stay, as the main touristy restaurants weren't really that great and were really expensive. It was also in quiet street and had great low lighting, we had candles outside. Think I may go back some day if Im in the area, who knows.

hands down the best burger i've ever had in paris. it's called "hamburger a notre facon." their "facon," or "way," is delicious beef (best ordered rare or "saignant") and then an egg cooked perfectly to over-medium, then something that resembles thousand-island dressing without the relish in it and tomato and lettuce. i poked holes in my burger with a fork and then let the yolk softly ooze out so that it slowly coated the burger and surrounding bun. SO GOOD! 14.50 euro, worth every penny. in the summer, there's a huge terrace! nice st. emillion for 19 euros.
