Buddha Bar

Description

A hit with businessmen and a fashionable crowd, this kitschy, exotic restaurant isn't quite what you'd expect to find just a few minutes away from the Crillon luxury hotel and ultra chic Place de la Concorde. Climb the massive staircase to this huge restaurant's smaller dining areas, watched over by an enormous Buddha. The imaginative Japanese-Californian menu features reasonably strong grilled duck and other meat dishes.

This place is a joke
By ,
I went there with y girlfriend an some family members. We don' mind spending money if it is worthy, it wasn't. I get better food from my local supermarket, the service is amateurish at best and I really feel like we thew 660€ out the window. There are so many amazing restaurants in Paris and this isn't one of them.

Amazing Night in Buddha Bar!
By ,
Had an amazing night at Buddha Bar in Paris, which was my first experience of Buddha Bar. The service was good, our waiter was not only gorgeous but attentive, the food was good and arrived in a timely manner, but be prepared its expensive!!! The atmosphere was great. There are definitely better places in Paris if you are purely judging a place by the quality of food but at Buddha Bar its the overall experience you are paying for. I would definitely go back.

Do your self a favor and go elsewhere
By ,
The ambience is good. Paid 200 euro for a mediocre meal. Had an experience that was very difficult to comprehend. There was a small altercation that resulted in my wife being doused with wine. Management could care less. Not even a small apology. You can do so much better in Paris. Don't bother.

An embarrassing joke
By ,
Took daughter and her friend to this supposed iconic bar in Paris. Have been there before and should have known better - but did I learn? Service? What service? We had to wave to the two waitresses standing two meters away to even get any service. We ordered a bottle of champagne - so we werent trying to be cheap, but it didnt improve the service. Unlike ANY other place in Paris where you get some sort of nibbly with a drink (even peanuts) you get NOTHING. So we ordered sushi. Well we tried to. We waved, whistled, called out - to no avail - the two waitresses just stood talking to each other. So I went to the bar, the bar man then called one of the chatting watresses and we finally got some food. But we had to go through the whole procedure again for another drink. There is no light - nice for ambiance - but not much good if you want to see the menu! No problems - it seems everybody uses the light on their phones to see the menu. If you are thinking of going there - please do yourself a favour - there are loads of other places where you can get and drink - and service is included! So go elsewhere. Unless ofcourse you like being fleeced without service!

AVOID buddha bar in paris!
By ,
Date 29 december Peter &Silvio from Australia When in Paris AVOID Buddha Bar! Paris is a unique experience , full of nice places why spoil your evening is "that" place? We are from Australia , spending xmas holidays in Europe , been to Holland , Wien and Paris. In Paris we stayed at our friends' place. They are from Paris but never been to Buddha Bar so we decided to have a drink there(not a dinner knowing the impossible prices and the poor quality of the food from this website). It was December 29 . The group was composed of 8 adults (4 French, 2 Italian and us) we stepped into the bar at 6.30pm the right time for a drink, the bar upstairs had a lot of available tables but all of them with the sign "reserved". Our French hosts asked permission to take a place , a girl from the staff replied "oui" without paying much attention to us and not welcoming at all. We sat down: we were practically in the DARK , the drinks and cocktails in the menu were impossible to read and we had to use the lights from our mobile phones, no comment about the prices : we already knew they would have been scandalous but we were willing to try the experience. To cut a long story short : after 10 minutes an arrogant girl (interested only in how she looked in her miniskirt) TOOK OUR ORDERS,that means in my judgement that everything is fine ?or not? (for a total of about 135 euros) not everybody could order their favourite cocktail as some drinks were to long to prepare and the barman had a lot of work (!!!???) anyway we ORDERED. After other 10 minutes a woman from the staff came and INVITED US TO LEAVE THE BAR BECAUSE THE TABLE WAS RESERVED FOR THE CUSTOMER WAITING TO HAVE DINNER (!!!) we made her notice that other tables were free and that WE HAD ALREADY ORDERED ,and that we were allowed to take aplace in the first time, she did not even take the time to reply. We left , happy to have saved the money , but not before complaining to the reception desk at the entrance of course without any results. And by the way : do not expect to see any celebrities over there : they do not go there : it's just a place for naive people like us who like to be humiliated and robbed...the second aim not successfult his time for them ...

Over priced
By ,
The atmospher was great when we walked in. But soon we were dispointed when we saw our table...too crowded too many tables. It was almost impossible to move. We could clearly hear our neibours because the few area between the tables. The food was oke. However I think that for that kind of money you can get better food en better service. After dinner we dicided to have some drink at the bar. Here was also too crowded and very very expencieve. I payed € 50,00 for 2 beers, 1 red wine and 1 vodka!!!!and not even a place where you can sit comfterbly.
