Os à Moelle (L')
Congratulations go to L'Os à Moelle's talented chef, Thierry Faucher, for the miracles he works in his kitchen and the sheer variety of delights he produces. With a CV that reads like a Who's Who of the culinary world (he previously collaborated with the famous chef, Christian Constant, at the Crillon) his reputation is deservedly well-established. Simple but elegant fare, including fried bream on seminola and light chocolate dumplings with nuts and caramel sauce; congenial service and an engaging atmosphere.
This is the type of food we were expecting from Paris and a truly culinary delight; we loved absolutely everything we ate there and we also loved that the restaurant is intimate and not over run with loud Americans. The cost of the meal matched the food so we didn't think it was out of line at all; can't wait to go back.
This bistro was amazing...a fixed menu with two or three choices per course - in all tonight we had lobster, clams, beef, fish, foie gras, cheese, salads, and dessert. With a few glasses of wine and taxes it comes to around 100euro, a little pricey, but worth it for the visiter to Paris. Only around 10 tables and the locals loved it as well...we arrived at 2000 and by 2100 they were turning people away. The one minor detraction: tables near the windows and the bar would have the occasional fruit fly, but other than that this place was a hit. Menu in English as well.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting your reviews of this restaurant - we ate there last week and it was excellent. The degustation menu now costs 38 euros and is still amazing value for money. The staff, although friendly and smiling, spoke very little english but we understood most of the menu so were able to get by with smiling and pointing at the menu to order.
This must be the best value, top quality meal you can find in Paris, which is obviously an opinion held by the locals, seeing as the restaurant was full and yet there were very few tourists there - a sure sign of quality!
A lot of care has been taken to ensure that this opera doesn't fall flat on a high note. And
the Seths – (the husband and wife duo), have almost succeeded in this endeavor. White and reds dominate the ...
