Restaurant Jacques Cagna, Paris

We just spent 12 days in France and had 7 pricey gourmet dinners. Jaques was the best meal of all. The atmosphere is perfect for a romantic dinner for 2 or a family outing or a business dinner. The menu was extensive and of the 12 different menu items we had at our table, they were ALL outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone expecting to spend at least $100 per person for a fabulous and memorable evening!

We went to this restaurant on Valentine's day in the evening.It was a very special night for us, the birthday celebration for someone in our party. We have been in Paris for almost a week now; we come every year and have had incredible, memorable food. We have had one great meal after the other; that is until we ate at this restaurant. The worst service and experience we have had, not to mention the most expensive. Some in our party ordered a vegetarian meal; the server made faces and comments in French to others in the restaurant as if we had asked for something no one had ever asked for. Our server, Ana, asked with a rude tone: "which hotel recommended the restaurant to you?" We saw the server, at most 2 times, once to take our wine order and then to take our food order. She was very unfriendly and rude. When we ordered a 2nd bottle of wine, the sommelier poured the 2nd bottle of wine into the same glass we had used for the 1st bottle so we could taste the 2nd wine!! Food is "big plates" and "little food". For 100 Euros per person for the fixed menu the experience should have been better. We had to constantly ask for water. They squeezed us into a corner table with 4 thick wooden legs. They kept moving the table to fit us in tightly so they could make room for a table behind us where no one was ever seated. Beware of this restaurant.
