Spoon - Food and Wine
The decor, conceived by Philippe Starck, of sober functional interiors, contrasts with the rich dishes on offer here - a thousand and one combinations are possible as you can choose the sauce to accompany your meal. Chef Alain Ducasse takes foreign ideas (notably Chinese and Japanese) and reworks them to give them a French twist. Results include half a Glazed Roast Duck with a Bearnaise Sauce, and a Grilled Vegetable Chow Mein. There is even a valet-parking service. The super-chic Avenue Montaigne is just seconds away. Booking is imperative in this very popular place.
People do not visit this place it awful. NO nice tours, no good food, no nada. TRUST ME DON'T VISIT THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Alright people they even had bad service like really bad service! It's your choice if you would like to visit but I am never going back NEVER?
Having spent a semester in Paris a decade ago, I knew that finding a good restaurant that served atypical ethnic cuisine would be hard to come by. No longer a student, I took my husband to Spoons where I was told the best fusion food was served at an affordable price.
Save this restaurant for a special occasion. The ambiance is great with locals and not as many tourists as one would expect. Compared to other restaurants of this calibre, you won't find a better value. The staff is superb and the food interesting and tasty!
I'm only giving Spoon 3 stars because of the price. This is the most we've ever spent at a restaurant for two people and it was good (interesting) but not THAT good.
The food wasn't that Frenchy. Even though we saw the menu, we thought it would somehow be more French - meaning, spectacular. Everything was good but nothing that special except for the dessert I had - bubblegum ice cream and cookies - YUM! The service is great though. The ambiance is good, more modern, less French bistro.
If you are Bill Gates, try it. Otherwise, I'd go somewhere else.
