Bedecked with pebbles, this 18th-century building, designed by architect M. Marot, has been devoted to contemporary art since 1973. It fulfills a number of functions: not only is it an arts centre, but also a hub of artistic research, lodging for artists and a national art school. There are some excellent temporary exhibitions, including French and international installation art, abstract works and sculptures. For the art academics, there is also a well-stocked library. Admission is free.
Long-time inhabitant of Nice, I went for first time to the villaarson. What a surprise! This place is really singular ans amazing in this city of tourism.. We find ourselves in a serene atmosphere, in the discovery of a nice garden and immense terraces, fitted out in kind of terraced garden, Babylon of the XXth century, with an extraordinary view on all the city and the Bay of Angels. We can also discover it exhibitions of contemporary art, that does not please necessarily all, but it is also the opportunity to discover new thons, take-it-or-leave it.
