Château de Bellet, Nice

I was able to go there on a tour in the late summer of 2008. The ride to the location is breathtaking. I do not know how the bus driver was able to negotiate the turns on the road leading to the vineyard. Great view of the Southern Alps. One of the descendants of the Vinyard gave the tour. It was very interesting how locations on the grounds have been part of the family's history through marriage and death. Very interesting on why they grow certain grapes and the amount they can grow. After a tour of the vinyard and chapel we were given the opportunity to sample several of their wines with dishes that are popular in France. I liked them all. The wine really complimented the wines and visa versa. The cheese is excellent.........the wines are stellar. I have never tasted wine like that. Especially, the white wines. They were fruity and tasty. After reading this I do not know what you think. But I was once a football player and I am about 280 lbs. I thought it was excellent. I brought some bottles home for friend. It you have a chance, take the ride.
