An excellent place to try out Armenian cuisine, this restaurant combines innovative culinary skills with the traditional cuisine. The national dish is keshkeg (a mixture of beef and wheat), while the numerous starters include dolmas (vine leaves and stuffed vegetables). The famous chiche kebab (lamb kebab with rice or wheat) is also worth tasting. The set menu, which includes twenty starters, fifteen main dishes and five types of deserts, allows you to try an assortment of all these specialities for EURO 40.
When in Cannes this is my favorite, it is very difficult to find a good Armenien Restaurant in most cities, let alone one of this high caliber. The Restaurant Armenien is not all that pretensious or even fancy, but here you don't dine you feast. This establishment makes a superb counter balance to the exquist top high end dining and will be a uniqe experience. For the very best of this restaurant throw caution to the winds and put yourself in the hands of the owner chef and and his wife, but be warned, go in very very hungry, you can diet some other time.
