Real aquariums are used as tables here, believe it or not. This place is well loved by the Bordeaux people and as the decor is entirely focused on the sea, it is quite natural to order the specialties of the house: grilled lobster (about EUR 23, depending on market prices), or a very large seafood platter from the Bay of Arcachon. On the à la carte menu, there are also fish dishes such as the turbot cooked according to the chef's taste, along with vegetables from the local market.
Don't be put off by the entrance - we went to check out the menu before it opened and nearly didn't come back. Even inside the ambience is not as great as the build up, a bit dark and well worn. We had read about the aquarium tables but didn't see any until later & the gents loo is something different!
BUT the staff were great & we had the 16 Euro menu which was fantastic value for the quality of food - fresh fish given just the respect of cooking it deserved.
Would go back again.

If this restaurant is relying on its past reputation, then don't be fooled. It is a tourist trap. It has unusual decor and friendly service but the food is extreremly poor. It was this way four years agao and, having visited it again within the past three weeks, it has not improved. Over or under-cooked fish and meat, unappetising and just generally bad, the restaurant needs a culinary makeover fast to bring it back up to a standard it might have enjoyed years ago. It was empty on a Friday night. I think the Bordelais have cottoned on to what is going on here as well!
Lovely little restaurant in the centre of town with friendly staff and great food. I've always eaten from the set menu costing roughly 8 for 3 courses and haven't been disppointed. The only downside is the ambiance and decor's not amazing!
