Tivoli, Copenhagen

One can spend all day at Tivoli, it is best to go late afternoon and stay until it closes, because then you can try out all the rides and repeat your favorites when there are less people in the evening. Rides usually close at 11 pm but close later in the summer. There are rides fit for anyones stomach, though more experienced roller coaster riders looking for intensely scary rides will be disappointed. There is a drop ride, a few roller coasters, several spinning rides, like cups, magic carpet rides, scrambled egg rides etc, all in various levels. For very young children there is are several rides, especially one that has large moving toys and narration in the car in English/Danish explaining all of Hans Christian Anderson's stories. Tivoli is also famous for its beautiful flower gardens and creative layout. There are boats on a lake, a very creative playground and many little shops selling Tivoli's famous chocolate covered soft icecream and amazing churros. Wagamama is a wonderful Japanese resturant, very expensive but very high quality. One can get season passes, family season passes and other passes that are very expensive, but are paid off in whole by the third time you go with the pass, so basically if you want to go several times a year, in the beginning of the spring season, in summer vacation or in the Christmas season, they are very worthwhile. Tivoli is definitely a place to go for literally any age, every level of thrill seekers, family and friends.

Love the rides so many different types, and the resturants was good value for money. i loved every minute of it. And we are going back again this year for 2 days this time. And it looks so pretty at night.

i went there at about 9:00 and it was beautiful with all the lights and the rides were extremely fun although i wouldnt recommend on going there during the day because its so small and at night you cant see as much so it gives the illusion of it being alot bigger

MY FAMILY AND I ENJOYED SO MUCH AT TIVOLI. WE REALLY LIKED ALL THE ATTRACTIONS THAT IT OFFERS TO PEOPLE. I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SAY WHICH ATTRACTION I LIKED MOST. WE FOUND ALL OF THEM GREAT. WE RECOMMEND THIS MARVELOUS PLACE TO ALL VISITORS TO COPENHAGEN.

This is a must when in Copenhagen. It's got it all. Rides, live entertainment, flowers, great food. Go in the evening and see it when the lights come on!

I've been there in december, is a great place for adults and children. every kind of lights, fairytales, Santa's houses, and a lot more. Not to be missed, especially for the atmosphere!!!

this place is excelent the only problem is that it smells like a farm. all of the rides were fab and the nighlife was breathtaking

I personally liked it it was nice on the warm day i went to it on, it was peaceful and enjoyable. I liked how the rides were old fashioned, just how i like roller-coasters. The admission wasn't very pricey at all compared to other attractions in denmark.

First and foremost this place is overrated. My guidebook devoted a lot of space expounding upon how Danish this place was and how nice it was. It was just an amusement park. You pay first just to get in. If you want to go on rides you either have to buy tickets or buy a free pass. I understand that there are bands in the evening playing etc. but during the day there was nothing to do except ride the rides. Although Disney and many other theme parks are probably more commercialized and expensive you at least are allowed to go to the attractions after you pay an admission price. This place had none of the charm or other benefits for the price that you pay.

Tivoli is open from May till October plus in the month of December for Christmas. It combines rides for the kids with concerts for the youth and good restaurants/bars for the adults. There is a lot of atmosphere in the park, especially at night, the entrance is reasonable in price, but tickets for the rides (or an unlimited rides pass) much be purchased separately. Tivoli should not be missed.
