Great traditional danish food

Café Lindevang is one of the better choices if you want to try out the traditional danish cuisine. Large portions at reasonable prices and everything tastes like when my grandmother cooked it.
If you are not familiar with danish food don't expect haute cuisine/culinaric experiments - its straightforward and somewhat rich food of the people using Denmarks "natural" ingredients such as porc, potatoes and fish (herring)
I like the place for its ambiance (its very popular and often quite crowded)the uncompromising quality of the food and the feeling of getting value for money.
For lunch you have a huge selection of Smørrebrød (open danish sandwiches) which is almost an art form. You choose by ticking off on a traditional smørrebrøds-list, but beware: Each piece of smørrebrød is huge - most grown men will only be able to eat their way through 2 pieces. Order a nice cool beer and possibly a snaps if you are having herring.
For dinner the menu emphasizes all the traditional hot meals including christmas dinner (flæskesteg or duck) - you wont leave hungry at night either.
