Vyehrad, Prague

i like everything at this place discover old things - cellars, coins,houses nice parks with everything: place for children, for walk, statues etc old nice houses and restaurants spectacular panorama to vltava river grapes wonderful cathedral

Vyšehrad is perfect if you want to escape the crowds and enjoy a more laid back atmosphere than that of the city centre. Take a lazy stroll around the red-brick fortifications, and admire the superb views of the Old Town and Lesser Quarter. You can also walk around the beautiful cemetery, where many famous Czechs are buried (including composers Dvořák and Smetana). Vyšehrad is easily accessed from the metro station of the same name, on line C ("red line"). Vyšehrad is just a few minutes way from the Muzeum metro stop, at the top of Wenceslas Square.

If you're looking to get away from the old city and spend a relaxing afternoon with the Czechs, hop on the red line and get off at vysehrad. Great place to walk around or lay out, good view of the river, very nice cathederal, excellent little beer garden with outdoor grill and 25kc beer and lots of dogs. If you want to relax on a sunny day you can definitely make a nice afternoon out of it.

Located just outside of downtown Prague, Vysehrad Castle is a great place to visit. It features a beautifully renovated cathedral, amazing gardens, and breathtaking vistas. Some of the country's most famous people are buried at Vysehrad Cemetery. You may also want to visit the catacombs beneath the fortress, accessible through Western tower. To this day, the extent of this tunnel network is unknown, but a small portion is open for visitors. Admission was very reasonable.

Vyserad is not so much known by tourists, but the experience is excelent... the ambience from the old walls guarding the city... A nice place to go and relax with good company, nature experience with excelent view to the Moldavia river and Prag.

This is my favorite place in Prague. I went alone on a warm spring day and a thunder storm came along during my visit. If you enjoy unusual Catholic artifacts, do not miss the exhibition in the back of the cathedral. If you are interested in unusual cemetaries, this is the place. Not crowded, easy to get to (20 minute walk from Wencesclas Square)and there is a beer garden (of course) just outside the cathedral. The gardens are lovely. The view of Hradcany and the Charles Bridge from here is astonishing. I can't wait to return!
