Description

The Charles Bridge is a famous historic bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV, and finished in the beginning of the 15th century. As the only means of crossing the river Vltava (Moldau) until 1841, the Charles Bridge was the most important connection between Prague Castle and the city's Old Town and adjacent areas. This "solid-land" connection made Prague important as a trade route between Eastern and Western Europe. Source: Wikipedia

oh my gosh

i almost fell off the stinken bridge because of some weird guy. i practicly fainted because of that very strange person. i wish i could go back in time and never go there.

really amazing

This is a great walk, looking at the statues and and city from the bridge. unfortunatly, vendors have taken over it, but if you ignore them, it makes a very good walk

Excellent. Standing there you can feel the romance and energy of Prague. The statues are very cultural, impressive, typical and unique ;) It also looks great at night!

DON'T Miss the Charles Bridge

The Charles Bridge is the heart of Prague. Not only is this location beautiful and full of culture it is very accessible. Artists and business men sell their goods on this bridge and more times than not there are choirs, tours, and musicians, etc performing somewhere on this expansive bridge. Do not miss it!

I still remember!

I only went there because of the movie shooting of the film : "blade" when i was eight but i had such a great time taking pictures and buying things that i have never forgotten the bridge! it was amazing and it has a beautiful view! i didn't mind all the artists! i thought it added character to the bridge and an essence that cant be found any where else , but thats coming from a 13 year old.

One of my favorite places in the world!

I realize that a bridge doesn't seem like much of a destination, but there's something magical about this bridge. It's the most romantic place I've ever been, especially at sunset--it puts Paris to shame. It's full of all kinds of street performers, we would sometimes stay there for hours listening to musicians play. The view is amazing, and it's right in the heart of everything. Definitely worth seeing.

i have been in charles bridge few times! it was really one of the best tourist attraction in the world. i am sure whoever visit prague may first want to go to charles brige, its not only because of the hisroric architecht, but we are getting a great mental refreshness if been there.i must say everyone, if you get a chance to visit europe, dont miss this romantic place!!

Prague without the charles bridge is not Prague. Go see it in the morning, noon, afternoon, evening and night. Its defferent at all times. Its the real face of the city.

great, but crowded

The bridge is amazing, but it's extremely crowded by tourist. Try going early in the morning, or late in the evening... On the other hand, if you like live music and souvenir shops than you have to see it in it's crowded moments.
