Description

This low-ceiling hall nicknamed 'The Hollow' is a large and friendly pub with a wide menu and choice of beer. A few hundred yards from Wenceslas Square, it tends to be quite popular with English-speaking expats and Czechs who gather around the central bar or on the wooden tables around it. The menu includes a mixture of Tex-Mex, traditional Czech and contemporary American dishes. The choice ranges from fried chicken wings to spicy burritos. The prices are slightly higher than those of ordinary Czech pubs in the area.

Jama's 17th Birthday Party
By Harry Green, 3/15/11
Went last Saturday, 12th March, for Jama's birthday. 17th years serving the likes of me! Excellent. Still feels as fresh to go now as it did in the mid-90's. Wonderful night.

Best of Prague's Pubs
By Robert Windows, 3/21/11
My last trip was November and this was the first place i came to. It actually got better! 85p for a beer during Happy Hours, 4-6pm. The most expensive beer is only £1.60 anyway. The girls are nearly all the same. All still lovely. I am loving this visit already. Another week of drinking here will make me a very happy man.

BEST VALUE RESTAURANT/PUB I FOUND IN PRAGUE
By Mark Ewing, 12/20/10
I have been visiting Prague regularly for a few years now and Jama is my favourite place to eat and drink whenever i get back. The girls remember me and my favourite drinks - a Cerna Hora Tas beer followed by Russian Standard Vodka. The menu is exactly my kind of food. The classic burgers, chicken wings, a Czech goulash, the full English or Ameriucan breakfast, if i want a syrupy pancake after my sausage, bacon and eggs. There is no better place to meet up with local Czechs and Slovaks plus the expat community. You can guarentee a few English and Americans will be there to chat with. Above all Jama is one very friendly and welcoming place. I recommend anyone visiting Prague for the first time to try it out.

Awesome place -- our home-base in Prague!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/29/08
The staff was nice to us (and nice looking!) which I cannot say about other places around that city. The food was good, especially their big burgers. The secret beer garden they have in back was our hangout during our stay in Prague. I would highly recomend this place! C.W.

PLANNING THE RETURN VISIT ALREADY
By Francis Harris, 12/28/10
Christmas lunch in Prague was very special thanks to: the waiting staff the kitchen staff the low cost the atmosphere the location There was very little to not like except i have always had turkey on Christmas Day, but being in the Czech Republic, turkey had been on the menu on their Christmas Day, the 24th and not the 25th. But the Roast Duck was a perfect substitute. We had turkey in our soup and a hot brownie with ice cream for dessert. All washed down with 3 different Czech beers. Lobkowicz, Klaster and Jezek. A great restaurant in the heart of Prague. I am planning our return visit already!

Beer garden wins
By Neil Degville, 7/12/11
Loved finding the beer garden at Jama. It is through the back of the bar. Then kick back and take off the shoes/sandals and rest up. Cold beer and a really nice meal in the shade.

Secret Garden
By Jana Koutova, 4/12/11
LIKES = Best kept secret is the garden up some stairs at the very back of the bar. *5 food and drink at 3* prices. DISLIKES = Long waits to be served. Nobody to greet us and offer us a table, just reservation notes
