Description
The Theâtre Royal de la Monnaie (De Munt) was built in 1700 on the site of the former ‘Herberge van Oistervant’ mint (‘La Monnaie’ is the French word for ‘coins’). It was considered one of the most beautiful theaters outside of Italy. Its Neo-Classical facade was completed in 1819, and the building had a major renovation in 1985.
