not recommended, highly overpriced

I would not recommend this restaurant at all. Food is reasonable quality but nothing special for the extreme price. I have had MUCH better culinary experiences for less than half the bill. We paid 420 euros for two persons and had a nice salad with truffle (49 euro) but also a perfectly tasteless carpaccio (49 euro), then an overcooked ravioli in again a relatively tasteless soup (78 euro for the 2), then a wild partridge which was OK but small (one small bird was a one person serving -for 125 euro- which the chef divided in two) and with too heavy filling (bacon?), then a nice but again nothing special desert (chocolate cake with indeed a very good ball of vanilla icecream, just one for 18 euro), wine was not good quality but expensive (had a alsace riesling for 55 euros which was quite ordinary, we were offered to taste a slovenian riesling which was really good but double the price so we stuck to the alsace). When I wrote to the chef to be fair he offered a 200 euro discount on a next visit, but when I proposed instead he reduce the bill to 150 euro (which I would find still much for the quality served) and refund the excess, as I do not live in Belgium and would also not be interested in returning anyway, he wrote he was 'insulted' and even withdrew his original offer... funny swapping of positions and not an indication of serious client centeredness. Again to be fair service was good although I had a bit the feeling of being 'talked into' the dishes especially when they turned out to be dissappointing. Atmosphere is very nice, small room with few tables but for me the food is first and of paramount importance and all the other aspects should be necessarily high quality for this price.
