Description
The most famous cake was invented by the young cook Franz Sacher for the Sovereign Metternich. Very quickly it became well known and often copied. A long quarrel between Sacher and the confectioner, Demel, was decided by the Court of Justice! (The original Sachertorte has a thin layer of apricot jam under the chocolate). In the Sacher shop you can send the excellent cake and wherever you want by post or better yet you may buy it and eat it directly! They also sell the highly recommended Sacher Cookery Book, so that you can attempt to make it for yourself.
