Description

This supermarket, which is opposite the Hanuschplatz bus station, is the biggest grocery store in the Old Town, as well as one of the cheapest. You can find everything from fruit and vegetables at the entrance to, counters for cheese and sausages. There is also a fine range of wines to choose from. It does get busy at certain times of the day though.

Rude customer service

The Billa Supermarket in Vienna near the Opera House, has extremely rude clerks. After complaining to the managers, they did not reprimand the sales clerk nor did they offer an apology. The food is overpriced, the quality of the bread is terrible, and the salads/fruit turns bad after only one day. We won't be re-visiting this supermarket with the bright yellow shopping bags nor would we recommend it to anyone either.
