Terrific food, beer and service
We just happened to walk in here for a late lunch. What a fortuitous event for us. First of all, the Bierstub atmosphere is very cool--curved archways, traditional white wood seats and tables, servers in "Trochten"--traditional Austrian clothing. Second, the food was wonderful--the best goulasch we had in a city that knows how to make it well. Third, the variety of Zipfer Biere were all good; especially the Octoberfest version. Fourth, very efficient, pleasant service from people you know have worked there for years. Finally, you may find yourself seated at a table with others. We were lucky to sit with four retired gentleman who were extremely fun, interesting and wanting to talk to Americans. Between our beginning German, their bits and pieces of English and lots of hand gestures, we had our most fun restaurant experience of our three week Euro trip. Definitely recommend this little gem.
