Description

Although Costa Rica does not have a wine culture, many of the typical foods, including barbecued meat cuts, chicken and pork, as well as the good, tender, juicy steaks, deserve great wines to go along with them! This restaurant offers a good selection of imported wines, from France, California and other places. This is a great place to go when visiting the Poas volcano. Additionally, the restaurant claims that all the food served is organic.

I would eat their food every day.

The restaurant was recommended by a local tour guide when we visited the Poas volcano. The restaurant is clean, cozy, and the owners are always there. You can see the kitchen and how they are preparing the food and drinks. The staff is friendly and you do not feel you are in a restaurant built just for tourists. We all tried the casados, a local dish of Costa Rica, and I swear I could eat it every day if I had to. For dessert, try the arroz con leche and the home made apple pie. You won't be dissaponted!

A Rustic Costa Rican Restaurant Surrounded by Beautiful Flowers

Heading to Poas Volcano we came upon CHUBASCOS and entered through a trail of beautiful and colorful flowers. We were fortunate to enjoy the atmosphere of this delightful restaurant amidst the lovely landscape as we sat outside to enjoy our food. We all ordered the typical casado dish, which was a variety of costa rican food at a very reasonable price. This restaurant was a highlight of our trip to Costa Rica and we can't wait to return there on our next visit.
