Description

In this restaurant, the owners, Pedro Valiño and Luisa Esparducer, will attend to you personally with care and dedication. This Catalonian couple wanted a homey atmosphere so you will feel more like a family friend than a guest. The decor and furniture are those of a real Spanish home. Their sangria and tinto de verano are wonderful, traditional beverages for the warm months. Additionally, you can enjoy specialties such as rabbit with lobster and lamb sweetbreads, as well as fish and seafood prepared in a very particular Catalonian way.

Great place to eat

Service was great, food excellent, Rioja exceptional, we will be back! I had visitors from Europe and they were well impressed with the Spanish menu and wine. Phil, an Englishman in Costa Rica.

We live here and love this restaurant

Whenever my husband and I are in San Jose we always eat at Casa Luisa at least once. It is one of two of our favorites restaurants. The tapas (Spanish hors d'oeuvres) are the best value and they have a wonderful assortment. This way you can sample little bites of many different dishes. The staff is very attentive and the ambiance is romantic, airy, and homey all at the same time. A little hard to find, but once there it is well worth it!

To start, have a Gazpacho to cool you down followed by the unbeateable cordero (lamb) - local an not imported - It is an official stop for lunch everytime a I visit Costa Rica.

Best food in San Jose

This is a great restaurant with a truly exceptional hand in the kitchen. The fresh sardines (bocarones) were incredible. I live full time in Aspen, and this place beats most Aspen restaurants in both ambiance and food.
