After a long twisty ride up the mountain, with hints at how great the view might be, we arrived at a compound that was immaculate. We took pictures by the beautiful waterfall just outside the entry. Inside was gorgeous and the host and wait staff were of course tuanis (too nice). They even lit the fireplace when they noticed my girl was cold. The food and wine selection was relatively outstanding, but the view wasn't all that. By the time we got to the top of the mountain (ear popping and all), a fog had developed. We asked the host: When is a good time to come and see the view? He looked at his watch and replied "about twenty minutes". About twenty minutes later we watched in awe as the fog slowly lifted, revealing the most spectacular city view I've ever seen. Seemingly every light in San Jose can be seen from there, at the perfect focal point to be framed in darkness. I'll never forget it. We returned a second time a few days later, and of course, the friendly Tico's remembered us. Astoundingly, when we returned the following year; they still remembered us! That was a couple of years ago, but I'll be returning soon! If you go to Costa Rica, don't miss Ram Luna! Pura Vida!
