Casa de Doña Lela (La), San Jose

During my 12 day stay in Costa Rica, Casa de Dona Lela was probably my favorite restaurant. The food was delicious and fresh, and even if the prices were a little high, the quality of the food made up for it. If you ever find yourself in Costa Rica, go to Casa de Dona Lela. You don't be disappointed.

During my visit to San Jose, I ate here a few times. Its my favorite restaurant in San Jose. The food is great, authentic and affordable. I Love the beautiful environment. its even popular with the local ticos.. I Defintely recommend this restaurant!

It's a really pretty place to go to, very tropical sceneary with water falls and everything, the food is excellent, but the prices are a bit steep.

The food was marvellous, the atmosphere was extremely pleasant. I noticed that while I was there, the place was packed with Ticos, not tourists, so if this is the place where they eat, this is the place you should go to to really experience Costa Rica. The service was superb, hands down world class. I found it to be a bargain for the portions and the preparation of the food.

We live in Costa Rica and just love eating at La Casa de Dona Lela! The food is very typical Costa Rican and the ambiance is casual enough for our 3 year old to be accepted! The restaurant has water walls that already add noise and the picnic tables are easy to feel comfortable as a group or family around. If you want casual Costa Rican fare, this is it! Also, the best guacamole I have ever eaten! The cost is completely reasonable, although not dirt cheap as some sodas in CR seem to be. This is a restaurant chain, not a streetside soda!

The authenticity and enviroment of the restaurant, it truely represents my countries beautiful traditions. If you would like to show foreigners the true taste of Costa Rica take them to Dona Lela's!
