Cathedral de San Juan

Description

A favorite stop for tourists, this marvelous cathedral was built in 1592, on the same site of the previous cathedral that was destroyed by a hurricane around 1584. Located on Calle Cristo , this gothic and neoclassical structure is situated in front of the historic Hotel El Convento in the heart of Old San Juan, and the Plazuela de Las Monjas . Besides the cathedral's religious significance, history buffs can view the relics of Ponce de León that are preserved here in a marble crypt.

Wow it was So NOT amazing!

i hated it. It wasnt that pretty anyway they made it sound better than it was. it was etremely boring i recomend u NEVER go there. i go to places all over the world and that was by far the worst place i have ever been to, just looking out for you. Have A Good Vacation - Ana May Lieona age 39

i liked every single thing about their (so including the boys i mean you can die )i love puerto rico!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and miss it so much.=)

Isla del Encanto

Island of Enchantment.....This place is beautiful..great beaches...nice people..a little pricey because it's us dollars but definitely worth it. The shopping is great plenty of outlet stores. Love the nightlife the restaurants are great. The Yunque rainforest is a must see for everyone, before it disappears...

Stayed in El Convento kittie corner from the Cathedral. Both face a square with 500 year old Banyan Tree with tame feral cats about. Padre Pio and Ponce Del Leon remains reside within. Very nice, view of the bay from the steps down the street.

I like everthing because it a different culture it is diferent from what I am used to! Go in the summer because its the best time to see everything and everyone alive and active.You will ahve so much fun and will want to come back next time! Dont forget to tell your friends aboiut this wonderful placw as well!

It was a very nice place to visit with its religous feel. It was like a marble passegeway to the 1500's gosh I wish I could go back!!!!!!!

LOVED STRUCTURE AND HISTORY ARE EXTRAORDINARILY RARE AND ANCIENT.ON THE OUTSIDE IT LOOKS SMALL BUT ON THE INSIDE IS HUGE AND BEAUTIFUL.BE SURE THAT REMINDS OF HISTORY REALLY KEEPS IT'S LOOKS INTACT AND ASTOUNDING.

I loved the environment that I was in as I entered the church. The people in the churc were very welcoming. As you enter the church, you are able to see how old the church is and its stability to stay up for so long through hurricanes of destruction.

This is a beautiful cathedral!..I love old churches, and was able to purchase a beautiful Rosary!!..The staff in the church were very friendly and helpful, I also purchased a necklace. I will definitely have my wedding here:-)
