Church of San Sebastián (The), Madrid

If you are interested in the literary history of Madrid, the Church of San Sebastián cannot be missed. This beautiful church, though bombed in the civil war, has a collection of important preserved documents and is a popular stop on the tour "The Madrid Of Cervantes." It has been mentioned in many literary works, including Perez Galdos' Misericordia. Gustavo Adolfo Becquer, a Romantic poet, was married here, and the church archives hold the death certificates of Cervantes, Lope de Vega and Ruiz de Alarcón, among others.
