Paseo de la Princesa

Description

Located in the southern tip of Old San Juan, this stylish promenade hosted a former Spanish prison, which now houses the Puerto Rico Tourism Company. It offers breathtaking views of the San Juan Bay and is bordered by a huge colonial wall. Several cultural activities are held here throughout the year. Walking the full promenade also offers views of Isla de Cabras , a beautiful small island located in the bay. The Paseo is the place for an afternoon 'Piragua', a traditional Puerto Rican sweet concoction made from ice and tropical fruit syrups.

Owesome
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/12/08
The area is so beatifull and the people are so friendly. Ponce is one of the most beatifull cities I have seen in P.R. The downtown area is very nice to go shoping. The old Fire House in Ponce was founded by Don Felipe Salazar. It is a little hot but you can still enjoy your stay in Ponce.

It's a Beauty to visit
By Booger boogie, 3/7/08
Postive: This place is beautiful to visit and explore. I lived in Puerto Rico from 1991 to 2004 and My son and I would visit at least once every 3 months. The streets, buildings, & parks are beautiful sights to see. The dinning is excellent. You can have fancy expensive meals, fast food, or taste what the small kiosks have to offer; a variety of Puerto Rican snacks and drinks. Most of the times there are Artisans work displayed by the port where the cruise ships come in. Also horse drawn carriage rides take you around Old San Juan. Make sure on your next trip to Puerto Rico you stop by Old San Juan where PASEO DE LA PRINCESA is located. Enjoy our Latin Flavor ! Negative: The only negative thing I have to say about this place is that there are a lot of homeless people walking around or sleeping on the floor.(2004) Some hidden streets are dirty. Tourists should stay in the area where there are other people walking around.

I like the view and the atmosphere. Its like walking through old spaniard forts. If you like romanticism that is the place to walk under a full moon.

Bohemian Nights!!!!
By Luz, 8/22/07
I'm going to miss the "cafe con leche" (coffee with milk) and "Mayorcas" from La Bombonera, a "heavenly" restaurant. I wanted to experience San Juan like a local, so I rented a studio for a month. What an experience!!! Lots of art gallery, great food and nice people all over. I loved spending the evening at the "Plaza de Armas" drinking tea... was an experience I will never forget and I'm planning on going this Christmas to enjoy "Lechon asao" (roasted pork)!!!!!

I miss you!!!!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/14/07
I'm a puertorrican who lives in Orlando, FL and belive me one of the things that I miss more from PR is El Paseo de La Princesa. It was, is, and always will be, my favorite spot. Every person that goes to PR for the very first time, and ask me about my beautiful island, I ALWAYS send them there. If you're planning to go, belive me, don't miss this, you're going to love it.
