Description

Also known as La Isla Nena or the 'Little Girl Island.' Located off the east coast of Puerto Rico, this 21-mile-long island remains largely undeveloped. The US Navy is in control of about 75% of the land, which has caused some controversy recently. However, there are hiking trails, beaches and a phosphorescent bay, which may be the most luminescent in the world. The island is a great place to escape the faster pace and tourist activity of Puerto Rico. Check with the tourist office regarding boat excursions that can transport you to the island.

Incredible Vacation Rental

I love this place. Quiet, peaceful and the views are incredible. Close to town, great pool and a short walk down the hill to the beach. Loved also having a full laundry. Plenty of outdoor space to stretch out under trees or in the sun! Very Clean and very helpful staff. Loved our stay here and will definitely come back.

Loved Vieques but did not love Villa Palmyra

We stayed at Villa Palmyra in Vieques for one (horrible) night. The only AC is in one bedroom, the other 3 bedrooms have no AC. There was glass on the floor from a previous guest who I assume had a party. There were roaches. There were mosquitoes everywhere. The pool was small and dirty. The rooms were dark and depressing. Definitely visit Vieques, wonderful island. Definitely do not stay at Villa Palmyra. We checked out within 24 hours and lost our entire 10-day rental fee.

I live out of the island. I think the pictures are great.Make me feel like home again. At least I can enjoy my island and see all the good stuff of it.

Great Island

I loved the island in general, nature-wise is a gem. Also, it is surprisingly, a culinary haven as you can eat very good everyday at a different restaurant since they have about 10 good restaurants.

Would love to revisit

Swimming in Biobay is an amazing experience. Renting a car was a fun way to get around the island. Red Beach was our favorite spot to visit, however as of last summer there were no active dive shops in Esperanza, so bring your own gear.

Caribbean Paradise

I love to scuba dive and this a paradise to do so. There is also another small island outside Puerto Rico called Culebra which is also breath taking. Vieques is a very small island with only one big hotel by Wyndham. The hotel is beautiful and the beaches are very peaceful.
