Faro a Colón (El), Santo Domingo

it was really nice and the servive was incredible. also the beaches were beautiful and the resturants were amazing. also the rooms were very nice.

This is a very impressive monument and burial site of Christopher Columbus, or atleast some of him as is disputed today by Spain. It is a beautiful park. Pope John Paul II himself visited here. One of his protective vehicles is on display there. The gardens, the landscape, the awe of the place sitting right on the Caribbean Sea is quite a spectacle, its too bad so many people where displaced into slums so the monument could be built. In the museum there is a room for every country in the world with a small collection of artifacts from each one. The seplachure of Columbus is like 3 stories high, its incredible. I would definately want to see this place if visiting Santo Domingo.
