Several tourist resorts are dotted along the white sandy beaches of Juan Dolio on the east coast of the island, at which visitors can enjoy privacy, exuberant tropical views, and lovely seascapes. Nightlife and entertainment is also close at hand in San Pedro de Macoris, the nearest city. Likewise, Juan Dolio is just 24 km away from the airport (Aeropuerto Internacional de las Americas, AILA) and 40 kilometers away from Santo Domingo, the capital city.
