Gran Teatro de La Habana, García Lorca, Havana

This magnificent palace looks like anything in Europe yet it has its own particularity for all the elements;marble,stained glass,stone balconies,etc.,are essentially what Havana´s architecture is !!! It is a stunning building and it is wrapped around the interior of the 1835 Teatro de Tacón. The building of the façade is from around 1914 and essentially rids us of the ugly old Teatro de Tacón façade while preserving the luxurious stage and seats so the building in its symbiotic oneness is a real piece of work.Restoration seems to be ongoing. Among the greats here have been Enrico Caruso, Sarah Bernhardt and so many other great European voices and performers.
