Au Delice & Le Restaurant d'Arthur
This establishment, comprising a restaurant and a food store on two levels of the same building, is situated in the Hai Ba Trung district. Ninety percent of the produce sold in the food store, Au Delice, is imported and this is reflected in the prices. Pates from France are sold by the kilogram or 100-gram . Hams and sausages from France, Italy and Spain, cheeses from France, Spain, Holland and Italy, and French wines are sold here. European cuisine, in a la carte and set menus, is offered at the restaurant. The eatery also organizes private parties at the house of its customers! Reservations are recommended if you are heading here for a meal.
Han Thuyen Street. This restaurant sits above the Au Delice Deli. We went really to go see all the great deli, fresh meat, cheese, pate and wine selection in the Deli itself and somehow were cajoled into the Restaurant when we were just going to have a look at the menu. It was lunchtime and was not crowded. The decor is great and the seating very comfortable. The Menu is pricey especially for dinner but they have a fantastic set lunch with a huge choice to pick from. There were about eight choices for each of the entrees, the mains and the desserts. There were two of us. For the entrees we had a tomato and feta salad with a drizzle of olive oil and a warm chicken liver salad with balsamic vinegar. For mains we had a meal of roast beef with potatoes au gratin and a salad and the other main meal was veal and orange kebabs with a mushroom and cream sauce served with steamed vegetables. For dessert we had a Crème Caramel and a Lemon Tart. The set lunch was only 89000VND + per head and excellent value for money. Bike parking is not a problem. The Staff are very attentive and friendly. If I could, I probably give it an extra half a star. I think the promo. runs until August. I dinner menu looks very inviting.
