Two Heroines Monument, Talat Nuea

The Two Heroines monument tells an intresting story of a tactical defense against a Burmese invasion. The presentation of the statue is well indeed, but is something that you can be completely satisfied by if you were to merely just see it as you are passing in a car. The story goes something along the lines of these two sisters leading the women around the city dressed as soldiers, during a Burmese invasion, to make it seem as if they were recieving reinforcements from Bangkok. Those are the most interesting detials anyhow. I suggest if you are going to Phuket to stay at the beach and go snorkeling or scuba diving,and not to make a point to visit the monument. It is most likely that if you drive through Phuket city you will see it for the two minutes it is worth to see
