Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Sanctuary, Thalang

Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Sanctuary has the only remaining virgin rainforest on the island. Apart from being a center for study of the environment, it also conserves a number of species of wild animal; langurs, barking deer, mouse deer, bears, wild boar, monkeys and gibbons. Many species of bird also inhabit the spectacular forest vegetation, which contains huge trees, creepers and climbers of every description. There are two waterfalls: Ton Sai and Bang Pae Falls.
