Coral Island, Ban ra wai (1)

You should try this island if you want a uncrowded island. The coral is nice and there are a lot of little fish. you can see the whole coral reef in about 45 mins. the rest of the day you can relax on the beach and eat at the resturant.

I loved Coral Island and will definately be returning - the hardest decisions each day were where will I swim and what will I eat! It is surrounded by a rainforest and even monsoonal rain did not dampen our spirits. Not a place for someone who want to be active - this is a place to relax, read,swim and sleep. Huge choice of food - average prices but delicious! Snorkled for the first time and even had a parrot fish nip my finger. Air conditioning, salt water pool and shower, one TV and computer on the island. I hope is is not 'discovered' - it was quiet and peaceful.

My family have been to many places in the world and we all agree that the day out with all of the things to do but still retaining the beauty and quiet, relaxed atmosphere was outstanding. The reef is as good as Australia, South Africa, Mexico. The fish eat out of your hand. The safety area completely excludes boats. The restaurant serves great food even for the kids. Mum and I snoozed in a traditional beach sala after lunch while staff took the kids snorkeling and kayaking. All tried Powersnorkeling, the same as Snuba back home and it was the best fun. Took underwater photos. They took us on a drift snorkel around to Long Beach. On the way spotted, a moray eel, a lion fish, lobsters and the most amazing coral formations totally untouched. The staff told me that they are introducing night snorkeling, overnight sleeping in the huts or the kids can do that and Mum and I will pop around to the resort for a comfy bed and air cond. The owner had just delivered a huge BBQ for sunset snorkeling and eats on the totally deserted beach. This spot is only 15 minutes from Chalong Pier, Phuket. The Coral Island Club has only about 10 people visiting at a time so it's great and very different from lots of other group tours. We truely recommend this value day.

I have stayed overnight at Coral Island and my kids loved it very much. They enjoyed the beach and very friendly staffs. The room was comfortable. It was quite simple with air-con, hot shower but my family felt that it was ok. Foods were great and prices were fine as they were on the island. If we compared with normal resturant in Phuket, the food here was more expensive but it was still acceptable. The beach was really fine. There were still lots of coral and fish although it seemed to be be in the old day. My family will definitely stay there again on our next holiday.

Can you believe a full day outing with the wife, 2 teenagers and a 6 year old and not a whinge or whine all day???????? Holiday bliss! Hand feeding fish,brilliant reef, playing with these seascooter James Bond units, breathing underwater on the powersnorkel gear, paddling in totally clear canoes,brilliant lunch on the beach in our private sala, a few cold beers while the kids played with the Thai staff. My wife had a massage and moaned to sleep. I had more beer and TOTAL peace. The best spot in Thailand for us is the Coral Island Club- sensational!! Happy Dad
