Kata Beach, Phuket

This place is not the paradise it is cracked up to be - unless you like self absorbed big fat European tourists - or maybe open untreated sewer draining into the sea! Chairs and umbrellas that dominate the beach Quite a disappointment - who knows who can use them?

Kata is one of the most relaxing places. You have no "action" places but quite and nice restarrants, hotels and friendly inhabitants. if you want action it takes only from 5 to 20 minutes to Karon adn Patong

Kata is not your girlie bar loud music place - it's a great place to just relax & take stock. The beach is beautiful, quiet & calm, the water is crystal clear and it lends itself to just dozing off on a beach chair or having a quiet beer & reading your book. There are sufficient restaurants & bars to keep yourself entertained and it's only a 5 minute tuk-tuk ride in to Patong if you really need the bar scene.

I have gone to Kata Beach, on Phuket,Thailand two times and the second time was better than the first. If you want a place to truly relax, this is the place. Phuket itself is an idealic place. Besides year round warm weather and clean clear waters, it offers the full range of vacation needs. Kata Beach is the layed back, chill out area of Phuket. Kata Beach is for people that want to get away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life and spend their vacation on the beach and wandering about the numerous shops and small resturants. If you take your time and have a flexible vacation schedual you can get very good flight fares and the hotels are all reasonable. Super great deals can be had if you go just before or just after High Season.
