Kata Beach, Phuket

We visit Kata Delight Villas 5 times. Why? Old, lovely resort. Wake up in look in the water. The beach are lovely, also in June. Few minuts from everything, but also few minuts back to relaxing. Eat at Two Chefs then you are happy. Lone and Soren from Denmark. Go back in December this year, 2010.

My wife and I have now had 6 visits to Phuket in about 10 years, staying around Patong/Kata beach areas. We've been on our own, with friends, with our kids and plan to go again in early 2011 with our kids and other young families. The people of Phuket...beautiful, the food in Phuket...beautiful, the scenery in Phuket...beautiful, we cannot think of anything that has disappointed us in all our visits, apart from the devastating Tsunami that occurred 2 months after one of our visits and tragically afffected so many. As with ANY location in the world, it's what YOU make of it. We will continue to return to Phuket for the rest of our lives because we have never had a disappointing moment whilst there. Yeh, maybe some pirate DVDs don't work or a pair of copy shorts only last a couple of wears, but when things are as cheap as they are, who cares?!?! Patong Beach has the nightlife for the young at heart if you wish or you can find many places in Patong Beach that cater for the less "party inclined". Kata Beach is a quieter beach and offers no less in character and beauty than Patong Beach in our eyes. Hire a scooter and wind amongst the hills and take it all in because you are in paradise. Make the most of it because beauty this amazing is rare!!!

It is a wonderful beach of Phuket!!i've been there once,but certanly i will go back.it was love at first sight!

We have been to Phuket 5 times since 2000 and we absolutely love the place. Going back in Jan 2009 to stay at Kata Poolside Resort. There is more positive sides than the sewerage, but i'm sure with time that will be sorted out aswell. Great place to be. Love to retire there. Jacks. RSA

The Kata beach is one of the best beaches on Phuket. Not to large, with some trees in the back, it is only some minutes away from the shopping centers in Patong. Since most of the beach ist dominated by the long wall of the Club Med, it is not too crowded, but the township of Kata is split in two. In the north there is a bustling village with many restaurants and a bar scene, in the south there are some fine hotels on the beach, like the Boathouse and the only beach restaurant, Kata Mama, near the surf shop. My preferred hotels are the Aspasia, Peach Hill and Andaman Cannacia. There is one new hotel in construction now, the Peach Blossom. South of Kata, just over the hill, is a very nice, secluded beach, the KataNoi beach, dominated by the KataThani hotel.

Cafes', Bar's,restaurants, surf, jet ski, dive,whatever you want, Kata beach has it. The beautiful waters of the family-oriented Kata beach offers tourists a variey of things to do and see. For accommodation wise, i recommend Cappricio's Guesthouse. It operates under an italian restaurant serving great Pizzas,seafood and many more at a very low price, situated along Kata Road, from the guesthouse, it is walking distance to the beach, 7-11, massage parlour, bike rental kiosk, Andaman Cafe, and a few bars up the street. If you're thinking of visiting Kata, you do not have to worry much about communication, most locals of Kata are able to converse in simple Engish which makes alot of things easy. Travelling by Tuk-Tuks from Kata to Phuket town are as usual feasible for bargaining and usually the price come to about 150 baht ( that is if you are lucky or you're good enough to convince the driver to go that low) otherwise the fare is a standard 200 baht. Alternatively, you can always rent a bike or a car and make your own way around. :) Basically if you are looking for fun filled family holiday, or a relaxing lovers getaway, Kata Beach is the right place to go.

i´ve been there for 2 distinct years, and both of the times i didn´t have a room with beach view... i hope for the next time, i don´t know yet when, i can get it :-)) i loved you hotel!!!

I stayed nearby; it's a pity I only get to go there one morning and one sunset (during my 3 nites stay). Great sunset view. Definatly recommended to just spend time there. I love it! (I did not go to any other beach for sunset in Phuket)

Kata was gorgeous- the people are amazing- the values were amazing. Only thing is the 17.5 hour direct flight to Bangkok from NYC was a bit long. Not long enough though for me to not say that I'm going back soon.
