La Gaetana Restaurant, Talat Nuea

I'm staying in Phuket already 11 months... and what can i say - this is the best place on the island to spend evening in cosy, worm atmosphere, enyoing excellent dishes and meet so nice chief as Gianni

I have been coming to Phuket for 11 years and discovered Gaetana 3 years ago after a recommendation from a friend. There are many restaurants on the island - but for perfection, there is only one. The food is superb, the service exceeds any offered from Paris to Hong Kong. Gianni's attention to detail is wonderful. I will never forget an evening when a friend of mine was struggling to read the menu as he had forgotten his eye glasses; without fuss, a small silver tray discretely arrived at table's edge, with a selection of spectacles to assist my friend make a memorable selection! Every meal has been perfection - in fact I will email Gianni now and make a booking for tomorrow. Enjoy....and tell your friends.

My French friend (a chef) lives in Phuket and suggested we eat at La Gaetana for dinner. The owner was very helpful in selecting our food. He was patient and explained different dining options. I observed the young ladies he had working there. They gave excellent service, always smiled and were professional. The owner even brought my wife something for my wife to put on her shoulders in case she became cool. We never once had to ask for dishes to be removed, additional water or anything else. The service was not obvious but the young women did an excellent job. The food was delicious and the presentation of the food was very good. Will we be going back to La Gaetana on our next visit to Phuket? The answer is simple. YES! This is one restaurant that you can't go wrong at.

Nothing to dislike. Gianni is a sincere and marvellous host - and a magnificent chef. His "performance" is something to see, let alone the wonderful and genuine Italian food, attentive service and excellent wine list. The atmosphere is superb in an 80 year old house, beautifully done up. All just tremendous and our favourite place in Phuket for a fine meal at reasonable prices. We have been dining here regularly for 3 years now.

I'm Italian and I've been living in Phuket for the last 3 years. The only Italian restaurant I would send any friend or tourist to is "LaGaetana". Why? The serve real Italian food for Italians!!! All other so called "italian restaurants" in Phuket are just several steps below. Go Gianni, you rock! My tastebuds thank you... Adriano
