Rock Hard Cafe, Phuket

Dinner on Valentine's Day 2010. We made reservations the day before. On the night itself, we arrived on time but they had given away the table we reserved and they made no attempt to apologise. Food was mediocre at best. We had the ribs and the combination platter. Price for ribs was exorbitant for the quality, would recommend any other bar & grill around Patong. The combi-platter was nothing to shout about, the onion rings in particular were lousy, more like Bread Rings with onion. Drinks were mediocre, quite a ridiculous price given the standard. Had the same Mojito in Hard Rock Hotel in Sentosa, Singapore. Same price but standard was far better, excellent in fact and worth every cent. Wife had the Pickle Tink. It costs you 3 drinks of similar quality anywhere else in Patong. Whenever we called for service, I could percieve that they turned their head away every time my hand shot up for service. It takes me about 5 minutes to get service, ridiculous given that at anytime there are about 5 staff milling around our vicinity. When we left, no one greeted us though we passed at least 4 staff, including the one at the door - they just ignored us. There were 2 bands, one was, as you could guess by now, mediocre / pitchy. The other was good, but not enough to save the evening. For a special occasion like Valentine's particularly, I must say service is particularly pathetic. They did not even try to decorate for the occasion, no flowers, balloons, nothing whatsover to cue you in on the occasion. It might as well be any other weekday night. We regretted spending our time and money at HRC this Valentine's.
