Doi Inthanon National Park, Ban doi Lo

We had joined a tour trip to Doi Inthanon. That's a nice place,I can say it is the most beutiful place in Chiang Mai. You can see fresh flowers, fresh air,clean enviroment as well. I went to chiang mai on March, hot weather was started, everyway so dustya and messy, I couldn't see the sky, except Doi Inthanon. If you love to see nature, you must go there. Somemore we went to see Water fall, the water fall quite big. it nice to go Doi Inthanon!

The drive up there alone makes this a hugely rewarding trip. Then when you get there you'll be confronted with stunning views of the mountains and clouds below. This is where I proposed to my girlfriend (the answer was yes!). Then be sure to stop at Vachiratharn waterfall on the way down. There'a a permanent rainbow there (when the sun shines) and a restaurant which serves the best food you'll get anywhere. There are very few tourists - just local people having picnics by the water. easily one of the best places to go in Chiang Mai if you like getting close to nature and sampling the real Thailand.

If you have a day or two, you'd better try a 2 hour walk called GewMeaParn. It is an easy walk. Entrance is about 100 meters past the pair of pagodas. However, you must first contact the NP office(the place with a wide grass lawn located about 3/4 way to the top. You won't miss it). GewMeaParn is a walk through the forrest and along the cliff. Good view with birds and flowers in winter. The walkway is closed in rainy season, so check first. A few hundreds bahts fee for entrance but worth it.

Bring a jacket in October onwards. Lovely scenery and worth the day trip. Some nice waterfalls to visit as you descend and a great restaurent in the park that sold local food. Ask your guide to look for it.

It was a fun experience driving to Thailand's highest point in Mid-December. Brrrrrrr it was freezing and I have the photo's of frost covered plants to prove it! If you go be sure to get there before 7am. The views are spectacular and thankfully there are a couple of places to get hot coffee!
