Gritta ( La), Mueang Chiang Mai

It may seem odd to eat Italian food while visiting Thailand, but we were told La Gritta should not be missed when in Chiang Mai. We were not misled. The restaurant is hushed with lots of windows, dim lighting and lush foliage outside. The server was friendly and helpful; he steered us toward a wonderful botttle of wine and offered good suggestions on what to eat. The food was carefully and slowly prepared and all of it -- from the salads to the pasta dishes -- was marvelous. Prices are higher than at most other Thai places, but the food is well worth it.
