Whole Earth Restaurant
Located close to the old city and the Night Bazaar, this restaurant offers an excellent range of health food, coupled with a high level of service. A peaceful and relaxing spot, it is set in a traditional Thai-style wooden house amid landscaped tropical gardens. All food is served in the elegant non-smoking dining room. The menu offers Thai, Indian and vegetarian dishes, including a good range of starters. The vegetarian curry and tempura are particularly delicious. The drink menu incorporates non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, including coffee, smoothies and bottled wine.
We had a very plesant time here! Friendly service, good food! When we arrived we had to take off our shoes. You can sit in the garden, on the balcony or inside. We went for the balcony. Before you start to eat somebody comes around to desinfect the hands with some alcohol liquid. Really some place to recommend! Price is higher then elsewhere but still acceptable.
A must when coming to Chiang Mai. I travel a lot in Asia and this is one of the best restaurants I know. Staying in Chiang Mai and not dining at Whole Earth is like going to Paris and not noticing the Seine. The menu is vegetarian with some meat dishes. The watermelon shake is not oversweat as in many other Thai restaurants. Some spectacular soups and excellent starters. I used to come here and tell the lady who welcomed me how hungry I was. Never did I look at the menu during my first stay in Chiang Mai. My last day the cook made a special dish for me. The staff is very warm and welcoming, most of them speak sufficient english. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed and not as formal as in many other upmarket restaurants in Asia. Half december I will be back from Chiang Mai and will discuss the menu in detail. If you are looking for a light meal, try the chicken with cashew nut. You will know how this "easy" dish has to taste. Try to book a corner table on the outside veranda. It might not be easy the period I am there, but you can try. Inside is for those strange people who go to Thailand and like to sit in an air conditioned room. Prices are as they should be. You will find cheaper in Chiang Mai but it will take a few trips to find better and cheaper.
This is one of the bastions of the expatriate community in Chiang Mai. Downstairs is much brighter and airier than
your typical Irish pub, though the posters celebrating Irish culture help to justify the pub's name. Upstairs is a ...
Located within the city walls of historic old town Chiang Mai, the Queen Victoria is a pub/restaurant offering great value

Fish and chips have never been better extremely fresh filets of fish, battered and fried to a perfect golden brown,
together with thick, hand cut, crispy potatoes. Downstairs, where the food is served, is homey, and upstairs you will ...
