New York Steakhouse
There was a great fuss when this outlet, Bangkok's only New York Style steakhouse, recently opened its doors in the JW Marriott Bangkok. Expect to pay between THB650 and THB1,800 for the choicest grain-fed US Certified Angus beef and Australian beef. True to its claim, the restaurant has them "all fresh chilled for excellent flavor and texture, and cooked just the way you like them." For the delicious oysters, lobsters, swordfish, tuna, shrimp and salmon, be prepared to pay between THB1,500 and THB2,000.
Very good 14oz ribeye steak but $80 is overpriced. Also, tables are too close together, can hear other people conversations. Must pay separately for side orders. With drinks expect a bill over $200. Stay away fron the Boston Lobster promotion, lobster meat appears to be old and mushy, cooked very poorly
The headlong pace and flawed modernity of BANGKOK (called "Krung Thep" in Thai) match few people's visions of the capital of exotic Siam. Spiked with scores of highrise buildings of concrete and glass, it's a vast flatness which ...
After a fairly bleak day at the train station with mix up on tickets we decided to bag the trian adventure and fly to Chiang Mai the next day. Ended up at the JW and treated ourslves to as good of a steak dinner that you could find anywhere. Although a bit spendy (you get what you pay for) the quality of food and service were second to none. We figured with all of the money we had saved eatting Thai food for a week that this was in our budget and were glad we did!
Good atmosphere with all nice and well trained ladies! Unbelievable steaks and wonderful dessert. Really made our dinner superb.
I didn't find Mr. Artur there anymore. Only Mr. Robert, Restaurant GM, so friendly with BIG smiles always.
An especially nice oasis for the American in Thailand, this place serves the best steaks I have ever had outside of the States. The service is supreme and cannot be beat anywhere in the world. You cannot go wrong here.
Be sure to ask Maitre D' Artur his wine recommendations, he's a gem, knowledgeable and friendly with it. He has trained the staff well, they are all friendly, outgoing and helpful.
The Black Cosmopolitan cocktails are a particular favourite of mine, drink them at the small bar or be served in style at the table. When it comes to food you can't go wrong whatever you order, the crab cakes are a delight and the Caesar salad amde to order at your table in an oversized bowl, is excellent. Needless to say the steaks are probably the best in Bangkok.
The first and only true creperie in Bangkok, Crepes & Co is an oasis of air conditioned comfort, which serves
over 100 entree and dessert crepes. Entering from the side through a lush garden, there is a long dining ...
