Witch's Tavern, Watthana

I have been going to this tavern occasionally for three years and the last time will be my last visit. It's always been mediocre at best, but it's becoming awful. Many expat women go for ladies night which has free drinks until 8(?) but the free drinks are nearly all water and they switched the beer selection to Chang, a beer many people will not touch. (Famous for the Changache and then the Changover) The crowd is the worst of Thong Lo now. Hi So women that are rude at best and the guys who like them. Slow service has always been a problem (and always check your bill for extra drinks) but they are rude at best now as well. The band was once tolerable has not bothered to learn any new songs and plays at ear-splitting levels. Sitting outside makes the volume level acceptable, but you need to go to the bar to get drinks within an hour. Beer selection and cocktails are pretty good here, probably the best thing about the place. If you go when it's not busy and there is no band or DJ, it's okay. The pizza is pretty good (for Thailand) but most of the other Western food is to be avoided. Many places in Thailand make pretty bland western food, but for the prices they charge the food should be better. Just about any other place on Sukhumvit is a better choice than here.
